We're passionate about supporting individuals across the lifespan and diagnostic spectrum (from 12 years old and above) and strive to embrace diversity in every aspect of our work.
We offer evidence-based and best practice treatment of those suffering any of the following:
- Disordered eating behaviours
- Problematic dieting
- Emotional eating
- Excessive exercising
- Fixation on healthy eating (Orthorexia)
- Eating disorders such as Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, and Binge Eating Disorder.
Additionally, we assist individuals dealing with body dissatisfaction, negative body image, and low self-worth.
Best practice treatment requires the involvement of a multidisciplinary care team, and we recognise the therapeutic benefits of involving family support systems where appropriate. Wattletree Psychology embraces a Health at Every Size (HAES) philosophy, which recognises the many dimensions of human wellbeing, as opposed to focussing on weight and shape alone; and celebrates the diversity of ethnicity, gender, body size and sexuality.
Our service provides diagnostic assessments, individual therapy, family-based therapies, and caregiver support. Recognising the uniqueness of each person, we customise our treatments to meet individual needs. Furthermore, we coordinate efforts with other healthcare professionals, ensuring a comprehensive and holistic approach to care.
Treatments we offer include:
- Family Based Therapy (FBT)
- Enhanced Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT-E)
Many of our clinicians are proud members of:
- ANZAED (Australia and New Zealand Association for Eating Disorders)
- AED (Academy for Eating Disorders)
- AusPATH (Australian Professional Association for Trans Health)
