Krasi is a registered psychologist who specialises in complex (childhood) trauma and childhood emotional neglect (CEN), difficult family dynamics (e.g. dealing with a narcissistic parent, enmeshment etc), depression, anxiety, low self-esteem and setting healthy boundaries in interpersonal relationships. In addition, Krasi has a particular interest in women’s issues, emotional and psychological abuse in relationships, coercive control, DV, and dealing/separating with a narcissistic partner. She has extensive training in trauma-informed approaches and family violence as well as a large referral network relating to these issues. Aside from her work in private practice, Krasi has been employed at Monash University’s counselling service assisting young people and co-facilitated inpatient trauma groups in a hospital setting.
Krasi approaches counselling by joining her clients in exploring their stories and assisting them to gain insight into their actions, life patterns and drives. While people often come to therapy with specific difficulties and a good understanding of their cause, even more often they simply feel stuck and need a change but are unsure where to start or how to achieve it.
Krasi offers in-depth treatment that can go to the root of issues and illuminate unrecognised habits and relationship patterns that become repeated over time. She places particular importance on building a genuine, empathic and respectful relationship with her clients, which she believes is the basis of change and growth.
Krasi has an integrative approach to therapy, drawing on CBT, Schema therapy, trauma-informed care, and positive psychology. While she uses evidence-based interventions to inform her work, it’s every individual client and presenting issue that determines her counselling approach since no two people are the same. Krasi is a registered provider with Medicare and private health insurers.
